Filming the 2025 -2026 12 Youth AA Championship Game
Portrait Modes recently was commissioned for and had the pleasure of filming the 2025 -2026 12 Youth AA Championship Game for the South Westchester Blackhawks team. This was the finale of an extraordinary season for the Blackhawks. It was the team’s first time getting to this level in the Hudson Valley Hockey League (HVHL) and to watch the team get to the finale was incredible. Portrait Modes is honored to be chosen to capture their championship win.
Our two videographers, Marcus and Parvenu captured everything, from the nervous excitement in the locker room, to the plays that won them the game, and the final celebration that followed. With these clips, we then had the challenge of editing together everything in a small documentary style memoir for the team and everyone involved.
Editing as a whole is a very involved process, and when you have footage to edit from an event I did not attend, it gets just a little tricker. There’s no script to follow in this kind of editing process. We had to watch through each clip and put them together in a way that was easy to understand and hopefully riveting to watch. It is a testament to our videographer’s coverage that we were able to follow every step taken and word spoken. The team's energy was infectious, and as we watched the clips, we could feel ourselves smiling and cheering along with the audience in the stands. As we edited, we knew we wanted the audience to feel the same feelings we did when we watched these clips. It was important for them to follow the boys as they played the game.
All in all, editing this production together was incredibly fun to do!
This was a great opportunity for us to introduce our new content and media production capabilities. We were thrilled to highlight this team with our media production division launch. This is just the beginning of what will be tremendous media production growth for Portrait Modes.
